Adding datasets from database views
Hi,
I'm currently uploading datasets in Aperture from a SQL database, a total of 15 tables were ingested with no issues but it seems that the process does not work for views and no error message is raised.
Are there any extra steps to enable the ingestion of database views by Aperture?
Many thanks in anticipation
Best regards,
Marco

Hi Marco
If you do not see any Views in the list (but want to), then you need to update the settings of the External system. Under advanced settings there is an option:

Hi
Data Studio can ingest dbViews
Please can you be more specific on the type of Database you are connecting to? Also if you are using something other than a built in driver to connect?
Is there an error in the logs: System -> Server logs https://docs.experianaperture.io/data-quality/aperture-data-studio-v2/monitor-data-and-troubleshoot/troubleshoot/#logfiles
There are some troubleshooting tips here: https://docs.experianaperture.io/data-quality/aperture-data-studio-v2/get-started/configure-external-systems/#jdbcconnectiontroubleshooting

It would also be useful to know at what point the load into Data Studio from the view fails. Do you see the views listed for selection when creating an new Dataset? Do you see a preview of the data?
You could also define a SQL query for the load (https://docs.experianaperture.io/data-quality/aperture-data-studio-v2/get-started/configure-external-systems/#loaddatausingasqlquery) to see if that works.0 -
@henry_ Thanks for your input. I cannot see any view from the selection list but I know that we have quite a few. However, I was able to load the view using Aperture SQL query.
Still that we are investigating why the views are not available from the selection list.
