search for tables in source step very slow

I think I've seen this issue before, but we have loaded 2,500 tables from D365 into a space - most have no data, just the schema. When creating a workflow, and selecting the source step, Aperture freezes when selecting tables. This might have been a mistake loading 2,500 tables but I seem to remember a similar issue before. Any ideas? My reasoning for loaded all tables was to ensure all tables with data are captured to avoid missing any relevant reference data from a golden config.
