Filtering Data on load
Is there a feature in Data Studio to filter data from an external system load - i.e. Select X from Y where Z instead of loading complete tables or does that have to be built from views?

Currently you would need to create a dbView in your external system and bring in that rather than the table. Alternatively load the complete table and build a filtered View on top in Data Studio.
However, we are building functionality to make this easier in future and hope to have it released in the next few weeks:

Definite step forward (from a User point of view) to be able to filter tables prior to loading - it would allow, for instance, only the current version of a client to be loaded where the table is slowly changing rather than having to load all instances of the client then only keeping the most recent one.

This functionality is now available in the product (v2.5.6) https://community.experianaperture.io/discussion/760/ and so will be in the next quarterly release v2.6 in January
