Charts - last 10 batches

Hi, if i wanted to create a chart that graphs data quality over time, but I only wanted to display the latest 10 batches from a dataset, what are my options for this? I was thinking that a workflow would use the original file as a source, and I would specify 10 batches, and that would output to a dataset (single batch only) - then chart would read from that smaller dataset. This workflow would just have to be run whenever the original dataset gets a new batch.

I was hoping in the Charts options there would be a "Get Last X batches" from the data source if a multi-batch source was detected.

Thanks

Set the Dataset/Snapshot to delete older batches whenever a new batch(es) is added.

  • I want to keep all batches as part of audit trail, but only want last X (10, but could be 5 or 3) to show up on the chart to keep it from being too cluttered.

Maybe write to a second Snapshot, one for all batches and the new one limited to 10 or 5 or 3.

Note that charts in Aperture have the ability to click and drag to zoom into a specific area if you do have a cluttered chart

  • Thanks Josh, your solution is the one I was thinking of, just wish there was an easier option such as 'only select latest X batches'

I think this could probably be added as an option when creating a View or Chart if people would find it useful. You can add here and see if it get some support https://community.experianaperture.io/categories/ideas-board
