Exporting - Extension Missing?

Hi, just upgraded to version 2.14.12.195 and noticed something in the 'Export' step. If I export to CSV, Excel etc. and my file name is split with a full stop, the extension is suppressed. For example file name "FILEOUTPUT" gives me" FILEOUTPUT.XLSX" but "FILE.OUTPUT" does not add the .XLSX extension. I noticed because some outputs in workflows were not as expected. (Yes 'Include default file extension' was selected)

Am I correct in assuming this is not working as expected?
