On the help documentation, there is no update on Trend Analyse and Data Consumer Dashboards
If there is any information on how this works would be great.
I think this functionality might be what l need to do for reporting.
@Carolyn the analyze trends is being redone in v2 as part of the charting revamp and there are some dashboard options coming up @Adrian Westlake can connect with you and find a time that is mutually convenient to give you a preview of what we have in mind.
Hi Thank you , he has contacted me. We will definitely like to take this up
Hi @Carolyn ,
There are ways in the current version to be able to create consumable report that can be accessed by a consumer user. You can pipe any step, data or chart into a report step, if you select the expose to Data Consumer this report will be available to any consumer user as a clickable report (Note the workflow must be published).
You can the preview this by clicking you user icon and switching to consumer user
If you have published the workflow you will see the report and be able to explore
A consumer user will only have this view but will be able to explore much like a view the data but not save anything.
*A consumer user is a user roles setting that is assigned, the user will only see the interface like the screenshot above but needs permissions to the space to see reports.
@Carolyn RE Trend Analysis, this is a little more tricky to do in the current iteration but not impossible to achieve.
I've attached a dataset and workflow which shows an example of what you need to get the data to look like in order to represent this on a chart
If you are wanting to use the data out of the Validate step you can transpose the data using a series of filters and splices to pivot the data, this could get a little cumbersome if you have a lot of rules but is achievable. Another optionis to utilise an extension called Transpose that can do this in one step. You could then make use of the multi batch feature to stack your results and add the batch timestampe.
Transpose can turn data from this:
You would then use a transform to rename the columns to the rule name
@Ian Buckle how do I import this workflow?
Ian has provided his example Workflow in a .dmx file. If you download this file then you can import it into your Space. Further instructions are available here: https://docs.experianaperture.io/data-quality/aperture-data-studio-v2/monitor-data-and-troubleshoot/migrate-metadata/
Thank you for the help. Is transpose a customer made function I can not seem to find it
Hello, yes you are correct that Transpose is a custom Workflow step. I will reach out to your account team and see if it can be sent to you.
@Carolyn and @Itumeleng_sage just another point of interest on this topic. Versions of Data Studio post v2.1 have had the ability to pivot data in a chart step. You may want to see if that gets you what you need for trend analysis
Inside the chart step itself you can pivot the data
